Brian Dorman started logging in 1973 working on a yarder with two buddies doing piece work. 6 months later Brian purchased a log loader and started operating Brian Dorman log loading LTD. This soon followed by purchasing a logging truck from Howie Davis, a 1967 Kenworth. The log loading company was soon replaced by Dorman Timber, which is now Western Canadian Timber Products. Throughout the years Brian took on challenges and grew the business from Trucking to full phase Contract Logging including Road Building, Falling, Cable Yarding, Mechanical Harvesting, Loading and Hauling, Dryland Sorting and booming.
In 2005 Brian pooled his resources and acquired Tamihi Logging Co Ltd and later purchased Cattermole Timber in 2009. As a Licensee, we continue to do our own engineering, logging, hauling, sorting, booming and marketing. We also offer forest management and engineering services to other Licensees as needed.
